The biggest highlight from today was bringing our first Social Studies unit to an end. We finished it up by discussing our final decisions for who really discovered America. Many students gave credit to the Native Americans because they believe the natives were here before any Europeans. Some people still wanted to give credit to Christopher Columbus because he played a huge role in bringing back news of land to the west getting others interested in exploring. A few students also wanted to give credit to The Vikings because they were the first Europeans to find northern parts of America and bring backs news of this land to their homeland. We also spent some time today practicing for our Age of Exploration project share that will take place on Monday, April 13th from 2:30-3:15.
